Berlin - Germany is the largest net contributor to the EU. According to EU-Commision figures, Germany last year paid nearly 13 billion euros more into EU coffers than it received in funding from Brussels. In contrast, Poland received 7.1 billion euros in 2016, the highest net level of funding of any EU member state.
