The current Multiannual Financial Framework (MFF) determines that the EU is allowed to spend 1000 billion euros in the time period of 2014-2020. More than half of the budget (€558.8 bn) has already been spent. The data-dashboard breaks the expenses down to the year and area which they are issued on. Sustainable growth and econonomic, social and territorial cohesion are the most cost-intensive assets on the primary level. Sustainable growth can be devided into agriculture, development of the rural area, fishery and maritime activities and climate and environment. Growth and employment, cooperation of EU-members, youth employment, eradication of poverty, cohesion funds and technology and innovation fall under the category of economic, social and territorial cohesion.

The second data-dashboard sheds light on the major expenses on the secondary level. 80 percent of the overall expenses are distributed on only five assets. As one can see agriculture is the largest asset with costs as high as 178 bn euros. The development of over time reveals that expenses of some assets have been declining (growth and employment) and others have been increasing (infrastructure).
