EU extends Mediterranean anti-migrant-smuggling mission by 3 months

The European Union extends its naval operation targeting human smugglers in the Mediterranean Sea by three months.
27 April 2018, Germany, Darmstadt: A section of the new deportation detention facility (AHE) of the state of Hesse in Darmstadt-Eberstadt secured with barbed wire, high fences and surveillance cameras. The state of Hesse has for years housed its deportation detainees in other states, but it now counts with its own detention centre for them. The conversion of the Darmstadt-Eberstadt correctional's housing for day release prisoners into the AHE is to be largely finished mid-year and it will offer housing for 20 men. Italy says migrant deportations from Germany will be small-scale

According to a minister at the Ministry of the Interior in Rome, the deportation of immigrants from Germany will be small and may reach 50 displaced monthly.

EU and Albania ink border deal to control migration
